The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has defended the detention and prosecution of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, insisting that its actions are strictly guided by the law and not driven by political considerations.
The anti-graft agency stated that all steps taken against the former governor followed due process and were based on the outcome of investigations into allegations brought before the commission.
Responding to criticisms and claims of political persecution, the ICPC maintained that it remains an independent institution committed to upholding accountability, transparency, and the rule of law, regardless of the status of individuals involved.
