Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has announced plans for the total renovation of the historic Gidan Murtala.
The governor revealed this during an Inspection visit to Gidan Murtala accompanied by members of the executive council.
During the visit,Governor Abba Kabir stated that his government would soon be awarding the contract for the renovation and reconstruction of the edifice, which is estimated to be worth millions of Naira.
He expressed dismay at the dilapidated state of the building, citing the lack of functional equipment, unclean surroundings, and tardiness among some civil servants as factors hampering civil service operations.
Governor Kabir pledged to restore the former glory of Gidan Murtala by installing a solar system, acquiring modern equipment, procuring contemporary furniture, and providing other necessary facilities to ensure a conducive working environment. He urged civil servants to demonstrate diligence and commitment in the performance of their duties.
Furthermore,the Governor called upon all staff of ministries and parastatals to uphold a culture of cleanliness to maintain a clear and orderly environment.
In a separate impromptu visit to the Kano State Pension Board, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf reiterated his commitment to modernize the pension system through computerization, aiming to enhance accountability and transparency in the management of pensions.
During his return to the government house, the Governor made a stop at a filling station along BUK road, where he engaged warmly with supporters, exchanging handshakes and interacting with fans who were chanting his name.
Similarly the governor also visited the Kano state Pension Board where met a lot of staff on duty and exchange their pleasent under the leadership of Alhaji Abu Fagge.
Governor Abba Kabir shawed his satisfection by the way the mininstry are going on good process of all arrengement second payment of Pensioners gratuty in the coming days.
