The Gombe State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, RUWASSA, has intensified the production of Top-Brown, popularly known as “Garin Inuwa,” as part of efforts to improve nutrition, strengthen food security and support vulnerable communities across the state.
The initiative is being implemented under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, whose administration has continued to prioritise the health, wellbeing and economic empowerment of the people of Gombe State.
As part of the programme, more than 50 women and young adults have been trained in the production, processing and packaging of Top-Brown.
The training is aimed at equipping beneficiaries with practical skills that can enable them to establish sustainable livelihoods, contribute to household income and promote better nutrition within their communities.
The locally produced Top-Brown is expected to be distributed to hospitals, health facilities and communities across the state to provide nutritional support, particularly to vulnerable individuals requiring additional dietary assistance.
RUWASSA says the initiative goes beyond nutritional intervention, as it combines food security, skills development, women and youth empowerment, and community development.
The Agency also commended its General Manager for providing purposeful leadership and supporting innovative programmes that complement the broader development agenda of the Gombe State Government.
RUWASSA reaffirmed its commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the benefits of the initiative reach hospitals, communities and vulnerable populations across the state.
