Gombe State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes Project, ACReSAL, has been recognised for its strategic communication performance, emerging second among the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory.
The recognition followed presentations by State Communications Officers at a four-day Work Plan Finalisation and Project Implementation Manual Review Mission held in Lagos.
Gombe State came behind Bauchi State and was rewarded with a local training opportunity for its efforts in promoting public awareness, project visibility and communicating the impact of ACReSAL interventions.
The Project’s Task Team Leader, Dr. Iganya Joy Agene, specifically commended Bauchi, Gombe and Niger States for their performance in strategic communication.
She stressed that effective communication is essential in ensuring that project activities and achievements are understood by the public, while promoting community ownership and sustainable development.
Reacting to the recognition, Gombe State ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Dr. Sani Adamu Jauro, dedicated the achievement to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his support and commitment to environmental sustainability and the successful implementation of the project.
Dr. Jauro said the recognition would further strengthen the project’s commitment to transparency, stakeholder engagement and community participation, as well as showcasing the environmental and livelihood benefits of its interventions.
Gombe ACReSAL says it will sustain its communication efforts to ensure that the project’s interventions, achievements and impact reach a wider audience.
