Former Kano State Governor and ex-National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has denied endorsing Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano, insisting that the Supreme Court will ultimately decide the emirship dispute.
Ganduje clarified that his recent exchange of pleasantries with Sanusi at a public event should not be interpreted as support for his return to the throne.
The former governor said the matter remains before the courts and urged the public not to read political meanings into his actions.
According to him, the final decision on who occupies the Kano Emirate stool rests with the Supreme Court.
The emirship tussle has continued to generate political and legal controversy following the reinstatement of Sanusi by the Kano State Government and the ensuing court battles challenging the move.
