The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka, has commended the impressive turnout of voters as the state’s local government council elections got underway across the 17 Local Government Areas.
Gadaka cast his ballot at exactly 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Polling Unit 015, Kokea Community, Dala A, Kofan Mai Anguwa, in Fika Local Government Area.
Shortly after voting, the APC chairman embarked on an inspection tour of several polling units across Fika, including the Goge Collection Centre, where he monitored the voting process and interacted with voters and electoral officials.
Speaking with journalists after casting his vote, Gadaka expressed satisfaction with the level of voter participation, describing the atmosphere surrounding the exercise as peaceful and orderly.
He also commended the timely distribution and arrival of voting materials at polling units, noting that the development had helped facilitate the smooth commencement of the electoral process.
The APC chairman urged voters to maintain peace and order throughout the exercise, stressing the importance of allowing the election to proceed without disruption.
He called on all participants to exercise their civic responsibilities peacefully and respect the electoral process as voting continues across the state.
The Yobe State local government council elections are being conducted simultaneously across all 17 local government areas of the state, with voters turning out to elect their representatives at the grassroots level.
As voting continues, election officials and stakeholders are expected to sustain the orderly conduct witnessed at polling units while voters await the completion of the exercise and subsequent announcement of results by the appropriate electoral authorities.
