In response to a social media report by a Passenger with Reduced Mobility (PRM) alleging discriminatory treatment at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has taken swift action.
Following an investigation led by FAAN’s management team, including Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection Mrs. Obiageli Orah, Regional Manager South West Mr. Sunday Ayodele, and others, FAAN decided to close the KFC facility at MMIA effective March 28, 2024.
The closure comes in adherence to Lagos State law on People with Special Needs, emphasizing non-discrimination and equal access to public places.
FAAN has also demanded an unreserved written apology from KFC management to the affected PRM and a policy statement on non-discrimination to be visibly displayed before the facility can resume operations.
FAAN reaffirms its commitment to protecting the rights of all passengers and ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment at all airports under its jurisdiction.
