The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Katsina Sector Command, has deployed 664 personnel and emergency response equipment across the state to ensure a safe and hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Ali Hinna Ibrahim, disclosed that the special patrol operation, which commenced on May 25 and will run until May 30, is aimed at reducing road crashes, fatalities and injuries during the festive travel period.
According to the Command, the deployment includes 555 regular personnel and 109 Special Marshals strategically positioned across the 34 Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
To strengthen rescue and traffic management operations, the FRSC also deployed three ambulances, one light-duty tow truck and nine patrol vehicles to monitor 23 critical routes across the state.
The Command said officers would focus heavily on traffic control and enforcement of major traffic offences to ensure free flow of movement on highways throughout the Sallah celebrations.
The Sector Commander further noted that the FRSC would collaborate closely with other security agencies to guarantee effective traffic management and rapid emergency response during the period.
Motorists were advised to obey traffic regulations, avoid speeding and dangerous driving, and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy before embarking on journeys.
The Command also urged members of the public to report crashes and traffic emergencies through the FRSC toll-free emergency line, 122, or 0700-CALL-FRSC.
