The Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja, on Monday adjourned the alleged ₦10.2 billion fraud trial involving Ali Bello, nephew of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, until June 2, 2026.
Justice James Omotosho shifted the case after the continuation of hearing in the trial instituted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against Ali Bello and Dauda Sulaiman over alleged money laundering and misappropriation of public funds.
The anti-graft agency is prosecuting the duo on an amended 16-count charge involving alleged diversion of ₦10,270,556,800.
During Monday’s proceedings, the 17th prosecution witness, Ahmed Audu Abubakar, testified under cross-examination by defence counsel, A.M. Aliyu (SAN), on transactions linked to the acquisition of several Abuja properties allegedly connected to the case.
The witness mentioned properties located at Danube Street, Guzape, Sheriff Plaza, Ikogosi Close, Durban Street and Dalla Hills Street in Abuja.
Following the session, Justice Omotosho adjourned the matter to June 2 for continuation of hearing.
