The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Katsina State Command, has deployed 2,050 personnel across the state to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
State Commandant, Commandant of Corps AD Moriki, announced the massive deployment during a management meeting at the NSCDC State Headquarters in Katsina after presenting the Command’s operational order ahead of the Sallah festivities.
Moriki said the deployment was aimed at maintaining law and order as well as protecting critical national assets and infrastructure before, during, and after the celebrations.
He stressed that the move aligns with the vision of the NSCDC Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to strengthen safety and security nationwide through intelligence gathering, intensive surveillance, community engagement, and collaboration with other security agencies.
The Commandant revealed that strategic locations including the Emir’s Palace at Kofar Soro in Katsina and Kangiwa in Daura, central mosques, Eid praying grounds, and Hawan Sarki routes across Katsina and Daura Emirates would witness heavy security presence.
According to him, both covert and overt operatives have also been deployed across all 34 local government areas and key government facilities in the state.
Moriki directed Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Unit Commanders, and Special Forces to ensure proper coordination and round-the-clock patrols to guarantee watertight security throughout the festive period.
“Personnel deployed must be very professional and synergize with other security agencies to ensure hitch-free Sallah celebration,” he warned.
The NSCDC boss also extended Eid-el-Kabir felicitations to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, the Emirs of Katsina and Daura, and the people of the state, while urging residents to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security agencies for peaceful celebrations.
