The Minister of Labour and Productivity, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, has enjoined newly wedded couples to respect the institution of marriage for societal development.
The minister gave the advice when he stood in as bride’s father at the solemnization of the union between A’isha Yusuf Dingyadi and Bashir M. Bashir during the wedding Fatiha at Sultan Dan Ma’azu Jumu’at Mosque on Friday in Sokoto.
A’isha is the daughter of the Senior Special Assistant to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman on Media
The marriage was solemnized by the Chief Imam of Dan Mua’azu Juma’at Mosque, Sheikh Usman Aliyu, after the payment of a dowry of N200,000.
The event was attended by dignitaries including the Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, Alhaji Bello Sifawa who represents governor Ahmed Aliyu; Peoples Democratic Party faction (PDP) Chairman, Alhaji Bello Goronyo; Executive Chairman Zakk at Commission, Alhaji Lawal Maidoki; some past and serving legislature at Federal and state, former Sokoto State Head of Service; and others include religious and community leaders, academicians, journalists and business men.
