Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 27 Task Force Brigade have arrested a wanted suspected terrorist collaborator in Kanamma town, Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The arrest was carried out at about 12:15 p.m. on October 17 during ongoing security operations in the area.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect was on the wanted list over alleged involvement in terrorist activities within the brigade’s area of responsibility.
The arrest is part of the military’s sustained efforts to identify and apprehend individuals suspected of supporting terrorist groups operating across the North-East.
The sources added that troops had intensified operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and disrupting their activities in the region.
The suspect is expected to undergo further investigation to establish the extent of his alleged involvement in the activities of the terrorist groups.
