The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening security, improving professionalism, and prioritising the welfare of its personnel with the successful hosting of its monthly strategic conference, the decoration of newly promoted Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), and a Hepatitis screening exercise for officers.
The activities, held on August 3, 2026, were presided over by the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, and brought together senior officers of the Command to review the state’s security situation and fine-tune strategies for tackling crime.
During the conference, the police hierarchy assessed ongoing operations and mapped out fresh intelligence-driven approaches aimed at enhancing crime prevention, public safety, and effective service delivery across Akwa Ibom State.
Addressing the officers, CP Azare charged them to remain disciplined, proactive, and professional in carrying out their constitutional responsibilities. He stressed the need for sustained intelligence gathering, stronger inter-agency collaboration, and operational efficiency to ensure continued peace and security in the state.
A major highlight of the event was the decoration of two senior officers recently promoted from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). The newly elevated officers are ACP Nnudam Korsere Fredrick and ACP Augustine Udourioh Joseph.
Congratulating the officers, the Commissioner described their promotion as a reward for dedication and hard work, while reminding them that the new rank comes with greater responsibilities. He urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and professionalism in line with the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.
In a move aimed at promoting officers’ health and wellbeing, the Command’s Medical Services Department also organised a Hepatitis screening exercise to mark this year’s World Hepatitis Day. The initiative focused on early detection, disease prevention, and encouraging regular medical check-ups among police personnel.
CP Azare noted that the welfare, health, and professional development of officers remain critical to effective policing, assuring residents that the Command will continue to strengthen its operational capacity and proactive policing strategies to safeguard lives and property throughout Akwa Ibom State.
The Police Command reiterated its resolve to sustain intelligence-led policing and improve service delivery as part of efforts to maintain law and order across the state.
