Former First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, on Monday hosted a grand dinner reception in Daura to celebrate and appreciate supporters following the victory of her son, Honourable Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari, in the party primary election.
The colourful gathering, held in Daura, drew political stakeholders, traditional figures, community leaders and supporters from Daura, Sandamu and Mai’adua Local Government Areas in a jubilant atmosphere marked by unity and celebration.
Top dignitaries at the event included the Chairmen of Daura, Baure and Sandamu Local Government Areas, members of the Katsina State House of Assembly, councillors, business leaders, security personnel, journalists and several political associates from within and outside Katsina State.
Addressing guests during the reception, Hajiya Aisha Buhari expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, loyalty and solidarity shown to Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari throughout the campaign and primary election process.
She commended the people for standing firmly behind her son’s aspiration, stressing that unity, cooperation and grassroots support remain vital ingredients for political success and sustainable development.
“I sincerely appreciate the love and commitment shown by the people. This unity should be sustained for the progress of our communities and the state at large,” she said.
Several dignitaries who spoke at the occasion praised Hajiya Aisha Buhari for maintaining strong ties with supporters and fostering peace and togetherness among political stakeholders in the area.
Guests were treated to an evening of goodwill messages, entertainment and prayers for lasting peace, unity and development across the region, with many describing the reception as memorable and well-organised.
