The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old woman, Riyanatu Musa, for allegedly stabbing a barman, Yohanna Musa, to death during a heated argument over an unpaid balance of ₦200.
The incident, which occurred on January 7, 2025, in Mubi South Local Government Area, has sent shockwaves through the community. According to police reports, Riyanatu, a sex worker, confessed to borrowing liquor known locally as “Big Benz and Yahoo” from the deceased.
She paid ₦1,500 out of the ₦1,700 owed but failed to settle the remaining ₦200, leading to a fight that tragically ended with Yohanna being fatally stabbed in the chest.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC(+), condemned the act, describing it as a tragic outcome of unresolved conflict. He has directed a discreet investigation into the matter and warned the public against taking laws into their own hands.
