AKWA IBOM — The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has honoured 600 officers who served during the 2026 election duty in Osun State, commending them for professionalism, discipline and exemplary conduct.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, presented Certificates of Commendation to the officers on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, in recognition of their outstanding performance during the electoral assignment.
Azare described the officers’ conduct as a clear demonstration of the discipline, professionalism and commitment expected of personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
He said their effective discharge of responsibilities, adherence to the law and professional conduct contributed significantly to the successful execution of the police mandate during the election.
The Commissioner praised the officers for representing Akwa Ibom State with dignity and distinction, urging them to maintain the same standards of professionalism, impartiality, discipline and respect for the rule of law in future assignments.
According to him, the commendation was not only a reward for their individual efforts but also a motivation for other police personnel to remain dedicated to duty and uphold the core values of the Force.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, CSP Soberekon Bamson expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for recognising the officers’ efforts.
Bamson described the certificates as a major boost to the morale of the personnel, saying the gesture would strengthen their determination to serve with greater dedication, integrity and professionalism.
He assured the Commissioner that the officers would continue to uphold their constitutional responsibilities and protect the reputation of the Nigeria Police Force in every assignment.
The Akwa Ibom Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to recognising excellence and rewarding professionalism as part of efforts to motivate personnel and promote discipline, integrity and effective service delivery.
