By ABC News Nigeria
Residents of Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State have rallied behind Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda during the Tinubu-Dikko 2027 campaign, as the governor showcased his administration’s achievements and announced an estimated 80 per cent reduction in security threats across the state.
The massive turnout at Thursday’s rally provided a platform for Radda and other All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders to highlight ongoing development efforts while mobilising grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing the crowd, the governor declared that his administration was determined to replace unfulfilled political promises with visible projects and programmes capable of improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
Radda stressed that his government’s performance would be judged by tangible results rather than rhetoric, insisting that residents must feel the impact of governance in their communities.
“The era of wasting time and making promises without delivering results must give way to purposeful leadership. Our commitment is to ensure that the people feel the impact of governance through projects and programmes that improve their lives,” he said.
The governor identified the renovation of secondary schools, the upgrading of healthcare facilities and hospitals, and youth empowerment initiatives as some of the interventions being implemented in Sabuwa.
He assured residents of Sabuwa town, Unguwar Iya, Sayyawa and Tashan Bawa that his administration would sustain its focus on infrastructure, education, healthcare and economic empowerment.
Security: Radda Reports 80% Reduction in Threats
In a major highlight of his address, Radda disclosed that Katsina State had recorded an estimated 80 per cent reduction in security threats, attributing the improvement to the grace of Almighty Allah and security measures introduced by his administration.
He vowed not to relent in efforts to protect lives and property, pledging to consolidate the gains made and ensure that communities continue to experience improved security.
The governor called on traditional rulers, political leaders, youths, women and other stakeholders to close ranks with the government, stressing that collective responsibility remained crucial to sustaining peace and accelerating development.
Dangiwa Assures Sabuwa Residents on Roads
Earlier, the Director-General of the Tinubu-Dikko 2027 Campaign Council, Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, praised the residents for their impressive turnout, describing it as a demonstration of support for Radda and the APC.
Dangiwa acknowledged the importance of infrastructure to the development of Sabuwa, assuring residents that ongoing and pending projects, particularly critical link roads requested by the community, would be completed.
He explained that the road projects were intended to connect communities, ease the movement of people and goods, boost commercial activities and improve livelihoods.
“The projects being executed in Sabuwa are aimed at opening up communities, facilitating transportation, promoting commercial activities and improving the livelihoods of our people,” Dangiwa said.
His assurance on the requested link roads is expected to remain a key point of interest for residents seeking improved connectivity and access to economic opportunities.
APC Chairman: Radda’s Achievements Speak for Themselves
The Katsina APC Chairman, Dr. Bishir Gambo Saulawa, also threw his weight behind the governor’s development agenda, commending traditional rulers, elders and party supporters for strengthening the APC at the grassroots.
Saulawa argued that the projects being executed in Sabuwa and other parts of the state demonstrated the party’s commitment to development, urging supporters to remain united as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
“Everyone can see the work that Malam Dikko Umaru Radda and his administration are doing. These achievements demonstrate the APC’s commitment to development. We are moving forward, and by the grace of Almighty Allah, victory will be ours,” he said.
Senator representing Funtua Senatorial District, Alhaji Muntari Dandutse, equally commended the turnout and pledged to collaborate with Radda and other elected representatives to attract additional development projects and strengthen security.
Meanwhile, Hon. Hamza Sule, the House of Representatives candidate for Kankara, Sabuwa and Faskari Federal Constituency, and Hon. Ibrahim Kaka, the Sabuwa State Constituency candidate, called for stronger cooperation between the state government and elected representatives.
They maintained that sustained collaboration would help accelerate infrastructure development and expand empowerment opportunities at the grassroots.
Radda Commissions Remodelled Sabuwa Lodge
Beyond the political mobilisation, the governor commissioned the newly remodelled Sabuwa Local Government Lodge, renovated by the council chairman.
The commissioning added a project-related highlight to Radda’s visit, which attracted the Deputy Governor, Hon. Faruk Lawal Jobe; Vice Chairman of the Tinubu-Dikko 2027 Campaign Council, Dr. Mustapha Inuwa; government appointees; APC leaders; and community stakeholders.
The Sabuwa rally forms part of the APC’s grassroots mobilisation for the 2027 elections, with party leaders seeking to translate the administration’s development record into sustained political support.
For Sabuwa residents, however, expectations remain focused on the delivery of promised projects, particularly road infrastructure, alongside continued improvements in security, education, healthcare and youth empowerment.
