The 2027 governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Katsina State, Salisu Uli, has pledged to paint his official vehicle in the colours of the Katsina State Transport Authority if elected governor.
Uli made the declaration while speaking with journalists during an interview on Tuesday, describing the move as a symbolic demonstration of his commitment to identifying with the people and institutions of Katsina State.
The ADC flagbearer also reaffirmed his legitimacy as the party’s governorship candidate, insisting that he emerged victorious in a primary election conducted across the state in the presence of relevant stakeholders.
According to him, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and other authorized bodies witnessed the exercise, lending credibility to the outcome of the primary.
“I am the legitimate candidate of the African Democratic Congress for the 2027 governorship election in Katsina State. The primary election was conducted across the state and was witnessed by INEC officials, security agencies, and other relevant stakeholders,” Uli stated.
He expressed confidence in his chances ahead of the 2027 polls, pledging to focus on policies that would improve governance, strengthen public institutions, and address the developmental needs of Katsina residents.
Uli’s remarks come amid growing political activities and realignments as parties and aspirants begin positioning themselves for the 2027 general elections.
The ADC candidate maintained that his campaign would be driven by grassroots engagement and a commitment to delivering effective leadership for the people of Katsina State.
