Zamfara Gov Wife partner AGILE to boost girls education

The Office of Zamfara State Governor’s Wife has partner Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) to boost girls education in the state.

The Governor’s Wife, Hajiyya Huriyya Dauda Lawal made the disclosure while handing over the laboratory equipped by the office of the first lady held in Gusau on Thursday.

“Our administration consistently placed education at the forefront of the six smart agenda, with particular attention of ensuring that girls are offered quality education as a pathway to a brighter tomorrow.

“We all believe that for our girls to succeed in today’s world, they must have access to quality education, especially in fields like Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

STEM education provides girls with the tools they need to participate meaningfully in shaping the future, and we are determined to break the barriers that have historically prevented them from excelling in these areas.

Lawal said the collaborative efforts between office of the first lady and AGILE, World Bank Assisted project of the Federal Ministry of Education, the objective of the project was to improve secondary education opportunities among those in targeted areas of implementing in the state.

In an effort to demonstrate this commitment, “I equipped one of the Girls Secondary Schools’ Laboratory with modern laboratory facilities as part of our efforts to enhance STEM learning for girls”. She said

As we unveil the “Advance STEM Laboratory” work plan today, I urge you all to keep working together to create more inclusive opportunities for our girls.

“I want to reaffirm the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal’s commitment in supporting AGILE project and its mandate of promoting girls’ education and empowerment. Together, we will continue to strengthen these initiatives and ensure that every girl of our state has the chance to succeed.
