In a strategic move aimed at deepening internal harmony and strengthening its political base, the Yobe State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate have paid a high-level consultation visit to Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, Minister of Police Affairs, at his Abuja residence.
The visit, described by party insiders as both symbolic and strategic, was part of an ongoing reconciliation tour designed to reinforce unity within the ruling party ahead of future political engagements in the state.
According to Hajiya Sa’adatu Maina, Press Secretary to the Yobe APC Chairman, the delegation was led by the State Chairman, Alhaji Mohammad Gadaka, alongside the governorship candidate, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali.
She noted that the engagement went beyond a courtesy call, stressing that it represented a deliberate effort to tap into Senator Gaidam’s vast political experience and legacy in Yobe politics.
Widely regarded as a towering figure in the state’s political history, Senator Gaidam was acknowledged during the meeting as a key architect of the APC’s enduring dominance in Yobe. Party leaders said the visit underscored a shared understanding that the strength of the party lies in continuity, consultation, and respect for its founding political structure.
Speaking after the closed-door meeting, Alhaji Mohammad Gadaka emphasized that sustainable leadership is rooted in dialogue and mutual respect, adding that the consultation reaffirmed the party’s collective direction.
On his part, the governorship candidate, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, described the visit as a reaffirmation of unity and loyalty, noting that the APC’s success in Yobe has always been anchored on cohesion and shared purpose.
As the reconciliation tour continues across the state, political observers say the Abuja engagement may set a decisive tone for a more coordinated and united campaign strategy within the Yobe APC family.
