The permanent Secretary Ministry of Reconstruction ,
Rehabilitation and Resettlement , Engr. Ali Goni Lawan has assured that the Ministry will intervene to solve the water scarcity pacing residents of Ngarannam housing Estate in Mafa Local Government.
Engr . Ali Goni Lawan gave the assurance during a visit to the estate.
While at the Estate, the permanent Secretary was taken round the water facility by Bitrus Mshelia , Technical advisor to the Ministry.
Mr. Mshelia said the Ngarannam housing estate was Commissioned by the state Governor on 22 October, 2022, adding that the project was implemented by UNDP under the regional stabilization facility (RSF)
He said out of the boreholes that are supplying the large Community in the estate only one is functioning .
Responding, the permanent Secretary, engr . Ali Goni Lawan said the Ministry would liaise with the Borno State Rural water supply and sanitation Agency
RUWASSA to fix the two broken boreholes to ease the problem of water in the estate.
The permanent Secretary has also inspected the 375 Solar Streetlight a primary school and health center within the estate.
He Commended the quality of the streetlight and the 20 – bed capacity health .
Engr. Ali lawan said the health center would be handed over to ministry of health to provide health care services to the residents.
Similarly inspected the site of temporary Shelter under construction for display community in Mafa Town where he warned that the ministry will not condone any sub-standard work.
The permanent Secretary was accompanied by special adviser to the Governor on MRRR , Alh Musa Abbas Chiroma and some directors of the Ministry.
