The passing of Senator Muhammad Bello Mandiya has left a deep void in the political landscape of Katsina State, particularly among the people of the Funtua Senatorial District whom he represented at the National Assembly.
His death marks the end of a political journey defined by public service, responsibility and a commitment to the people he served.
Senator Mandiya was not only a lawmaker. Before his emergence at the Senate, he had already established himself as a trusted political administrator and an important figure in the governance of Katsina State.
He served as Chief of Staff to former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, a position that placed him at the centre of government administration and exposed him to the complexities of leadership, policy implementation and the demands of public service.
That experience would later become an important part of his political identity as he moved from the corridors of the state government to the National Assembly.
As Senator representing the Funtua Senatorial District, Mandiya carried with him the expectations of a constituency whose political importance extends across the southern part of Katsina State.
