In a significant call for peace and adherence to the rule of law, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has emphasized the importance of all parties respecting the Federal High Court’s decision to maintain the status quo in the ongoing emirship dispute between Aminu Ado Bayero and Muhammadu Sanusi II.
During a press conference, the Dahiru Bauchi Islamic Foundation, represented by Sheikh Ibrahim Dahiru Bauchi, appealed to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to honor the recent court ruling.
The court’s decision underscores the need to preserve the current situation until the substantive case is resolved.Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi highlighted the necessity of lawful leadership, stating, “Nobody could rule or become a leader without adherence to the rule of law.”
He urged all involved to seek amicable solutions, emphasizing, “In the interest of peace, we want justice to prevail; since the court intervenes to maintain law and order, we expect each party to respect the rule of law in the interest of peace.
“This call for compliance comes amid heightened tensions over the emirship, stressing the importance of judicial respect to ensure stability and harmony in Kano State.
