Ramadan: Group lauds Minister’s gesture in Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara

A group of Muslims professionals has lauded the support of the Minister of State for Defense, Mr Bello Matawalle, for supporting less privileged persons in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states.

Leader of the group, Prof. Mika’il Jibrin, made the commendation in an interview with the newsmen on Monday in Sokoto.

Jibrin said the N500 million along with food items distributed by Matawalle as Ramadan fasting palliatives served as succor to citizens and urged wealthy Individuals to emulate the gesture.

He stressed that it would surely cushion hardships being face by majority of people in Zamfara state and other neighboring states of the Northwest.

The group emphasised that the good efforts of Matawalle on Ramadan support has been a sources joy and celebration among citizens.

According to him, Minister’s gesture have reached people across the 14 Local government areas of the state and cushioning economic hardship during the Ramadan fasting period.

Jibrin said group members have commenced inspection tour of sharing modalities to ensure that the foodstuffs and cash to reached targeted centres serving vulnerable people under ‘Ramadan Free Meals Initiative’ in Zamfara and Sokoto states.

He described the process as open free gesture initiated by the Matawalle as one of best initiatives that cater to hundreds of thousands in a single exercise that are not sponsored by government.

Jibrin added that the gesture have reached high magnitude of charity to people which had tremendously benefitted low class income families, orphans, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and orphanage homes in many places across Zamfara and other states

The group urged beneficiaries to appreciate the gestures through praying for the nation’s unity, peace and success of the government fight against insecurity challenges affecting the. country
