The Katsina State Concerned Civil Servants for Good Governance Forum has concluded its sensitisation tour of the 12 local government areas in Daura Senatorial District, highlighting employment, workers’ welfare and other achievements attributed to the administration of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda.

The tour ended in Kankia Local Government Area, where the forum’s leaders called on civil servants to uphold their responsibilities and educate members of their communities on government policies and programmes.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana, a patron of the forum and Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government Matters, urged civil servants to guard against misinformation, particularly in rural communities.

“If we civil servants are misled, then the entire state is misled,” Safana said, stressing that public workers wield considerable influence in their families and communities and therefore have a responsibility to provide accurate information about governance.

He described civil servants as important stakeholders in government and development, urging them to support public awareness through responsible communication.

The Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Ya’u Hassan Fardami, said the tour was organised to sensitise workers on their duties and acquaint them with the achievements of the Radda administration.

Fardami cited the recruitment of 7,325 youths, 2,158 teachers and 1,020 primary healthcare personnel as some of the employment initiatives undertaken by the state government.

He also maintained that due process was followed in recruitment exercises and in selecting youths for training programmes in China and Egypt.

Similarly, the Forum’s Director of Local Government Affairs, Alhaji Kabir Dayyabu Safana, said the administration had continued to prioritise workers’ welfare through promotions, salary payments and retirement benefits.

He stated that civil servants receive their monthly salaries by the 23rd of each month, describing regular payment as a continuation of a practice maintained by previous administrations.

During the tour, chairmen of the respective local government areas delivered goodwill messages, while the forum inaugurated its local government executives at the end of each visit.

The forum said the exercise was aimed at strengthening civil servants’ understanding of their responsibilities, improving public awareness of government activities and promoting effective service delivery across Katsina State.
