Pallition Consignment of 29, 500 bags of rice, millet and sugar made up of over 16 trailer trucks load with about N500 million has its distribution to constituents of Bauchi south senatorial district Sunday flagged-off by Senator Shehu Buba Umar admist jubilations by party henchmen.
The food item included 3, 000 bags of millet with 80 measures each, 13, 000 bags of Millet of 10kg each, Rice 3, 000 bags of 50kg, Rice of 10kg 4, 500 bags; Sugar 500 bags of 50kg, Sugar 6, 000 bags of 10kg, totalling 29, 500 bags, equivalent to 16 trailer trucks load plus, according APC State Organizing Secretary, Abdulkadir Lawal Gyengyen who introduced the occasion.
Abdulkadir Gyengyen who is the chairman of the palliation distribution committee commended Senator Shehu Buba for the gesture, especially at this period of soaring foodstuff prices in the markets, and during the harsh period of Ramadan fast being observed by Muslims faithful
Gyengyen explained that the food items when justifiably distributed, will cushion the effect of hardship to the beneficiaries, and described Shehu Buba Umar as one of the few Senators in the country that is much concerned about the plights of electorate, particularly his constituents, and generality of the people of Bauchi.
The committee chairman recalled that in the history of the state, no senator has been so generous and passionate about the plights of his people like senator Buba, who despite being in the opposition party in the state, carries all APC members and even members of other political parties along in his representation.
“In the history of Bauchi state, unless when we were not born, we have never heard or seen such a number of food items being distributed to constituents by a Senator. That’s the beauty of electing a credible and humane leader who has the interest of his constituents or electorate at heart.
According to Gyengyen, with the kind of equitable representation being exhibited by Senator Shehu Buba Umar, even his political opponents were moved to love him.
saying, “If you have not feel his impact, your son, grandson or your extended family must have tasted his kindness”, and called on the Senator to keep the flag flying.
Chairman Gyengyen assured the Senator that justice will be done in the distribution of the food items, warned those responsible for taking the items to the target beneficiaries against diversion for self-centredness, and prayed for divine blessings on the senator for goodness to the people
Also speaking at the occasion, the Bauchi state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mohammed Hassan Tilde expressed gratitude to God for giving the people of Bauchi South effective representative at the Senate.
Alh. Mohammed Tilde explained that the examplinary representation of Senator Shehu Buba Umar in the nation’s Upper Legislative Chamber Senate has been a source of comfort for APC members despite losing the governorship seat in the last general elections in the country.
Tilde expressed optimistism that if given the mandate to assume the governorship seat of Bauchi Senator Shehu Buba Umar will perform creditably well, as being vindicated by what he has been doing since he became a senator representing the state.
Shehu Buba Umar has in a short remark, noted that he has been the only Senator that emerged under the APC among the three senators in Bauchi state who is resolute in ensuring purposeful representation of the good people of the state in general.
He said, “I am the only Senator who won under the APC in Bauchi state. So, I am representing the APC in all the three senatorial districts of the state, all APC members in Bauchi state are therefore my people, I am representing them in Abuja and I hope that as we have arranged, these food items would go round all the nooks and crannies of Bauchi state”.
