Presidency Flags Off 2025 Hajj Flights in Imo, Masari Leads High-Powered Delegation

The 2025 Hajj pilgrimage took a dignified lift-off at the Owerri Imo International Airport as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari, joined top dignitaries at the official flag-off ceremony.

The event marked a major milestone in Nigeria’s Hajj operations, symbolizing the beginning of a sacred journey for hundreds of faithful pilgrims. Masari, representing the Presidency, praised the smooth coordination between the Imo State Government and the National Hajj Commission for ensuring a seamless takeoff.

Gracing the ceremony were Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima; Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma; Chairman of NAHCON Sheikh Saleh Pakistan; FAAN MD/CEO Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku; His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III; Senator Abubakar Sani Bello; Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri of AUDA-NEPAD; Hon. Abubakar Umar Jarengol, and other dignitaries.

Masari offered prayers for the safety and spiritual fulfillment of the pilgrims, adding: “May their journey strengthen their faith, and may they return renewed in spirit and purpose.”

The flag-off ceremony is the first of many across Nigeria, setting the tone for a peaceful and spiritually impactful 2025 Hajj season.
