POLICEMAN IN ROBBERY SHOCKER AS ATTENDANT KILLED IN KONTAGORA

A serving officer of the Nigeria Police Force has been arrested over a deadly armed robbery that claimed the life of a young fuel attendant in Kontagora, Niger State.

The suspect, identified as Inspector Jido Ahmed, was nabbed after a daring police operation following the attack at a filling station in Garun Mallam area.

The incident occurred when two armed men—one allegedly dressed in police uniform—stormed the station, demanded cash, and shot 20-year-old Jibrin Inuwa in the chest after he resisted. He later died at the General Hospital, Kontagora.

Swift response by police patrol teams led to a gun duel in a nearby area, where one suspect was shot in the leg, overpowered, and arrested, while the other escaped.

An AK-47 rifle and live ammunition were recovered from the suspect, who is currently receiving treatment under police custody.

Authorities say a manhunt is ongoing for the fleeing accomplice, as investigations deepen into the shocking case that has rattled the community.
