The Sokoto State Police command have arrested a total number of 109 persons for various offences which includes vandalism during the national protest against bad governance.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Kaigama, disclosed this to newsmen. He said the command arrested 81 persons on the first day of the protests for vandalising government properties and looting of people’s property.
He further explained that another 28 people were arrested for same offences, adding that they will all be charged to Court.
According to the CP, the miscreants who took part in the hunger protests were reasonably believed to have been sponsored by yet unknown persons, promising that no matter how highly placed they are, would not be spared.
It was gathered that some of those arrested have made useful information that were shocking and unexpected.
Arrests made by other security agents were yet unknown but schools has opened and other business activities within the metropolis now flourishes.
Meanwhile, the hunger protests has revealed so many hidden agenda that led to people in highly placed arrested in Lagos, Kano, Borno, Kaduna and many other states, while the federal government continues to appeal for calm promising a better Nigeria for all.
