The Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, CP Umar Ahmad Chuso, has received the newly inaugurated Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Zone 12, Alhaji Abdulmalik Mahmood, Baraden Katagum, and his entourage on a familiarization visit to the Command.
The delegation included the Vice Chairman, PCRC Zone 12, Alhaji Mustapha Aliyu Ibrahim; Gombe State PCRC Chairman, Comrade Garba Ubale; Bauchi State PCRC Chairman, Ambassador Muhammad Zubair, Iyan Dambam; Vice Chairman, PCRC Zone 12, Alhaji Muhammad Adamu Toro; and other members of the PCRC executive.
Speaking during the visit, the Zone 12 PCRC Chairman commended the efforts of security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police Force, in maintaining peace and security in Bauchi and Gombe States.
Alhaji Abdulmalik Mahmood noted that the two states remain among the peaceful states in the country.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the PCRC to supporting the Police by promoting the positive image of the Force, strengthening the relationship between the Police and the communities they serve, and contributing to the welfare and wellbeing of police officers.
Responding, CP Umar Ahmad Chuso welcomed the chairman and his entourage to the Gombe State Police Command and described his appointment as a significant development for the PCRC.
The Commissioner of Police also commended the Gombe State PCRC Chairman, Comrade Garba Ubale, for his contributions towards maintaining peace and strengthening police-community relations in the state.
CP Chuso assured the delegation that the Gombe State Police Command would continue to collaborate with the PCRC and other stakeholders to promote and sustain peace and security across the state.
The visit underscored the shared commitment of the Police and the PCRC to strengthening community engagement, fostering mutual trust and supporting the effective implementation of community-based policing initiatives.
