NNPC Records 36% Surge in Crude Oil Sales, Hits 23.65 Million Barrels in April

Borno State Government

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has announced a significant rise in crude oil and condensate sales, which climbed to 23.65 million barrels in April 2026, marking a strong monthly performance in the energy sector.

According to the company’s April 2026 monthly report summary released on Saturday, the figure represents a 36.9 percent increase from the 17.27 million barrels recorded in March.

The national oil company attributed the growth to improved output and enhanced market performance, even as it noted a slight decline in gas sales during the same period.

NNPC disclosed that gas sales dipped marginally to 5.04 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d), reflecting minor fluctuations in the domestic and export gas market.

The report highlights ongoing efforts to stabilize and boost Nigeria’s oil production amid global energy shifts and domestic operational challenges.

Industry observers say the latest figures signal renewed momentum in the country’s upstream petroleum sector, with expectations of sustained output growth in the coming months.
