In a decisive blow against insurgency, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) under Operation Hadin Kai has successfully neutralized a notorious ISWAP commander, Abu Sale, along with scores of his fighters during a precision airstrike on their camp in Jubillaram, Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

The airstrike, executed after actionable intelligence pinpointed the location, targeted a critical operational hub of the terrorist group. The camp, under Abu Sale’s leadership, had been a strategic base for orchestrating attacks across the Lake Chad region.

According to sources, surveillance identified a significant gathering of ISWAP fighters, preparing for a coordinated offensive against military positions. Abu Sale, a key figure in ISWAP’s hierarchy, had recently been tasked during an October 26 meeting in Kangarwa to lead 150 ISWAP Special Forces in a planned assault.

Supporting the operation were four other senior commanders: Abu Ubaida, Abu Ali, Ibn Mustapha, and Goni Ali. To shield their families from the anticipated conflict, ISWAP relocated them to the Hisbah center in Tumbumma Babba.

This strategic strike not only eliminated Abu Sale but also disrupted ISWAP’s ability to carry out imminent attacks, signaling the continued dominance of Nigerian forces in counterinsurgency operations.
