MURIC Raises Alarm: Rejects Sokoto Assembly Bill to Limit Sultan’s Powers

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has raised a fresh alarm, rejecting the Sokoto State Assembly’s proposed Sokoto Emirate Council Amendment Bill, which threatens to strip Sultan Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar of significant powers.

MURIC argues that passing this bill into law will undermine the authority and influence of the Sultan, a key figure in Islamic leadership.
