Senator Marafa’s loyalists forum launches project to feed 10,000 vulnerable persons in Zamfara
Marafa Mentorship Forum (MMF) on Monday launched a project to feed 10,000 vulnerable persons in Zamfara state to commemorate 64th birthday of Sen Kabiru Marafa.
Speaking while launching the project at the Federal Medical Center, Gusau
the Forums’ Chairman, Dr Mika’il Barau said the project was organized by the members of the forum who benefited from Sen Kabiru Marafa.
“This is a group of over 1000 people across the state who benefited from Sen Marafa’s Scholarship schemes.
“Before we use to organize dinners and publications to celebrate the 64th birthday of our mentor Senator Marafa.
“But this time, considering the hardship faced by the Nigerians we decided to give this gesture to various groups of the needy,” Barau said.
“We are going to provide standard daily meals for 10,000 needy.
“As we begin with the FMC, Gusau the food also to be distributed in Prisons Yards, Yariman Bakura and Farida hospital”, he explained.
The Chairman further said that the forum also will support less privileged students from poorly background families through the National Education Fund popularly as Students’ Loan.
“Today by 4pm we are going to launched students’ loan office in Gusau, while another office to be open in Talata Mafara town.
“We organized a visual presentation on security and banditry activities in Zamfara By Dr Murtala Rufai from Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto.
“Dr Murtala Saminu, Head of Nursing Department in the Center commended the forum for choosing the center to begin the food distribution.
“This is timely and welcome development considering the hardship faced by the less privileged persons and vulnerable persons,” he noted.
Saminu called on other groups, associations and well-meaning individuals in the state to emulate the forum
