The Society of Nigerian Artists, (SNA) presented its prestigious award, of DISTINGUISHED PATRON AWARD (Dpsna), at the conference and award ceremony in Abuja on November 26, 2024 to HRH Engr. Saleh Muhammad Umar OON ‘Mai Kaltungo’ (Northern Traditional Leaders Committee, North East Coordinator, Deputy Chairman Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs)
The Award which recieved through the hand of Engr. Sama’ila Mohammed Umar (Dandarman Kaltungo).
Dandarma Kaltungo also conveyed the award to HRH Mai Kaltungo OnThursday in Kaltungo palace.
The Society of Nigerian Artists, (SNA) is an umbrella body for all practicing visual artists in Nigeria and Nigerian Artists in the diaspora.
”It was founded in 1963 by prominent Nigerian Artists across Nigeria.”
”It is made up of Sculptors, painters, textile designers, ceramists, print makers, art educationists, photographers, and also incorporate journalists. Membership is spread across the country through State Chapters.
The award presented to HRH Mai Kaltungo is in appreciation and recognition of his antecedents, passion, supports, as well as commitment to the development of creative industry, especially the visual art and the artists.
The award investiture waas presented on November 26, 2024, by 2.30pm at the Exhibition Pavilion, opposite Radio House, Central Area, Abuja, Nigeria.
