LGA Staff Screening: Review Committee Commemces Physical Verification

The Katsina State Committee for the review of the Local Government Staff screening has on Monday 27/7/2026 commenced the verification of LGA Staff affected by the last screening exercise conducted across the 34 LGAs of the State.

The verification exercise started with one hundred affected Staff from three local government areas of Kaita, Batagarawa and Katsina.

Out of the number, Kaita LGA has 10, Batagarawa with 29, while Katsina LGA has 61 affected Staff.

The Committee under the Chairmanship of the Special Adviser LGA Inspectorate Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana has recently submitted the Committee’s report after scrutinising about 900 written complaints genuinely submitted submitted by the affected staff which now the physical verification exercise commenced.

However, the verification exercise was in preparations for the immediate payment of monthly salaries of the affected staff including arrears.

It would be recalled that the State Government had conducted a general screening exercise on LGA staff across the 34 LGAs of the State which about 3,000 staff were found wanting.
