In response to the promising developments, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, expressed his appreciation for the MNJTF’s dedication to stabilizing the Lake Chad area, highlighting its crucial economic importance to the neighboring countries.

General Musa emphasized the need to continue supporting the MNJTF in achieving its mandate and pledged further assistance to ensure the force’s continued success in the fight against terrorism.

Operation Nashrul Salam, a non-kinetic operation of the MNJTF, has been instrumental in persuading terrorists to embrace peace and renounce violence in the Lake Chad area. This approach reflects a strategic shift towards addressing the root causes of conflict and promoting sustainable peace in the region.

The operation’s success in encouraging surrenders from insurgents in multiple countries is a testament to the effectiveness of this non-violent approach in countering terrorism and fostering stability.
