KTSG, to Train 300 Students in Web3 and Blockchain Technologies

The Katsina State Government through the Office of the Special Assistant to the Executive Governor on Innovation and Technology, has Unlocked a strategic partnership with Dar Blockchain, a Tunisia-based digital innovation company, to train tertiary students in Web3 and blockchain technologies across the State.

The initiative has received approval from Governor Dikko Umaru Radda as part of his administration’s agenda on youth empowerment, digital transformation, and innovation-driven development.

The programme underscores the government’s commitment to equipping young people with future-ready skills, while positioning Katsina State as a competitive hub for emerging technologies in Nigeria and beyond.

In its first phase, the initiative will train a total of 300 students drawn from various tertiary institutions across the state.

Participants will be selected from disciplines such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Banking and Finance, as well as other related fields. Non-technical students with a strong interest in technology will also be considered.

The training will cover key areas including blockchain fundamentals, Web3 infrastructure, smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps), digital assets, DeFi, tokenization, and blockchain security.

It will be delivered through a blended approach combining online learning, workshops, practical sessions, and mentorship, facilitated by experts and partners from Dar Blockchain.

Speaking on the initiative, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Innovation and Technology, Ibrahim Adamu, stated that the partnership aligns with Governor Radda’s “Building Your Future” agenda.

He noted that the programme is designed to build technical capacity and connect students to global innovation opportunities.

Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive certifications, mentorship, and access to internships, hackathons, and career opportunities within the blockchain ecosystem.
