Kebbi APC Reinstates Kana-Zuru As State Chairman

Katsina State Government

The Kebbi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reinstated Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Kana-Zuru as its State Chairman, reversing his earlier suspension and restoring him to office with immediate effect.

The decision was announced on Thursday, October 1, 2026, by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Isah Abubakar Assalafi, at a press conference held at the APC State Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi.

Assalafi said the Kebbi State Working Committee (SWC) reviewed the circumstances surrounding Kana-Zuru’s suspension before resolving to revoke the earlier decision and return him to the party’s leadership.

He recalled that the SWC had, at its meeting of June 20, 2026, adopted Resolution No. KSWC/010/2026, which suspended Kana-Zuru from his position as State Chairman.

However, following subsequent developments and a fresh review of the matter, the committee at its October 1 meeting resolved to withdraw the suspension.

Under the new resolution, Kana-Zuru is to immediately resume the full functions, powers, duties and responsibilities attached to the office of State Chairman.

The latest decision also brings to an end the interim arrangement under which Alhaji Adamu Mudi Augie had been serving as Acting State Chairman.

The SWC further directed that all official records, documents, correspondence, instruments and other matters relating to the office of State Chairman be handed over to Kana-Zuru without delay.

Assalafi said the State Secretary had also been directed to formally communicate the resolution to the relevant organs of the party, including the APC National Headquarters, for information, records and necessary action in line with the party’s constitution and applicable directives.

The Kebbi APC subsequently called on all party organs, officials, members and stakeholders to recognise and respect the resolution, as Kana-Zuru resumes his constitutional responsibilities as State Chairman.

The resolution was formally adopted by the Kebbi State Working Committee at its meeting held on October 1, 2026, at the APC State Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi.
