Katsina State is taking bold strides in renewable energy as Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, partners with France-based Vergnet Groupe to revive the long-abandoned 10MW Lambar Rimi Wind Farm.
Speaking in Paris, Governor Radda, alongside Special Adviser on Power and Energy, Dr. Hafiz Ibrahim Ahmed, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring the wind farm, a vital asset dormant for nearly two decades. The project aligns with Nigeria’s Renewable Energy Master Plan and the nation’s 2060 net-zero emissions goal.
Governor Radda also announced plans for a complementary 10MW solar farm to power an estimated 4,400 homes across Katsina State, enhancing energy access and sustainability.
“These projects signal a transformative step for Katsina, positioning the state as a renewable energy leader and contributing to Nigeria’s clean energy future,” Governor Radda stated.
With this landmark initiative, Katsina is poised to shine as a beacon of sustainable development in Nigeria.
