The Katsina State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has defended its 2027 budget before the Budget Defence Committee of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government Inspectorate Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana led the delegation and explained that the budget was formulated to drive development in Local Government Areas and strengthen chieftaincy institutions.
The committee reviewed the proposals and offered recommendations, while the Ministry responded to all queries satisfactorily.
The Ministry noted that the budget aligns with the state government’s policy of ensuring effective governance and efficient use of public resources.
