Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has reaffirmed his pledge to strengthen harmonious working relationship with Local Government Councils in the state to enhance quality service delivery at the grassroot level.

The Governor made this known through the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon. Bishir Tanimu Gambo at an opening ceremony of a Seminar in Kano.

The Seminar was organised for Vice Chairmen, Councillors, Directors of Administration and Finance and other senior officers of the 34 LGAs of the state.

The Seminar currently holding at Tahir Guest Inn in Kano, was organised by the state government in collaboration with KITARI Consultant.

The Governor explained that the aim was to strengthen the synergy between the Local Government Councils and the state government so as to add more value to the harmonious working relationship already existing.

Governor Dikko Radda cited the establishment of Agricutural Mechanisation Centres equipped with Tractors and other farming implement across the 34 local government to assist farmers at the grassroot, this according to him will boost Agricutural activities for the enhancement of food security.

To enhance quality healthcare delivery to the common man, Malam Dikko Radda said many Health Centres were remodeled and some were upgraded to General Hospitals across the three Senatorial Districts in the state.

The Governor however pointed out that to ensure bringing people at the grassroot closer to the government, Community Development Committee (CDC) was constituted across the 34 LGAs to bring forward the needs of their people to the government for onward execution and monitoring.

He therefore urged the participants to embrace the spirit of togetherness and be patriotic in the course of their duty.

On his part, the Special Adviser Department of Local Government Inspectorate Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana said the establishment of Local Government Inspectorate was to check local administration and projects execution at the local level.

Hon. Lawal Safana explained that with the establishment of the LG Inspectorate, it immediately embarked on inspection tour to check how respective projects were being executed at the local level.

The Special Adviser therefore commended Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda Phd for establishing the Department and his unwavering support to the Inspectorate Department in the discharge of its functions for the betterment of service delivery at the local government level in the state.

Earlier, the Chairman Local Government Service Commission Alhaji Usman Maska appreciated Governor Radda for identifying himself with the local government administration.

While charging the participants to extend to others what they have learned from the workshop, the Chairman also enjoined people of the state to always rally round Radda administration for positive development.

Others that participated at the Seminar include the Chairman State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government, Local Government Staff Pension Board and Local Government Audit among others.
