Participants have concluded a two-day Interest-Based Negotiation and Mediation (IBN+M) training in Kano State aimed at strengthening peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and sustainable development efforts in Katsina State.
The training was conducted under the European Union-funded Conflict Prevention, Crisis Response and Resilience (CPCRR) Programme in collaboration with Mercy Corps and with the support of the Katsina State Government.
The programme brought together commissioners, members of the CPCRR Steering Committee, High-Level Women Advocates, and selected media practitioners, who underwent intensive sessions on negotiation, mediation, and conflict management.
At the end of the training, participants were presented with certificates of participation, reaffirming their commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence, social cohesion, and sustainable development across Katsina State.
Organisers described the initiative as part of broader efforts to equip key stakeholders with practical skills needed to address conflicts and strengthen community resilience.
