Kano Government Levels Accusations Against Ganduje Over Alleged $200k Acceptance

The Kano State government has brought forward a weighty eight-count accusation against Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, alleging that he accepted $200,000 from a contractor. This move, according to the state, violates the provisions of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission Law 2008.

The accused parties in the case include former Governor Ganduje, Hafsat Umar (his spouse), Abubakar Bawuro (a businessman), Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited, and Lesaga General Enterprises.

The government’s allegations extend to the claim that Governor Ganduje received a $210,000 kickback from individuals and entities involved in the remodelling of Kantin Kwari textile market.

The accusations also mention the conversion of N1.376 billion earmarked for health sector supplies, leading to wrongful loss to the people and government of Kano State, thereby jointly committing the offense of Criminal Conspiracy.
