Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum mni ably represented his Deputy HE (Dr) Umar Kadafur led government officials to commissioned and resettled the people of Gajibo Community in Dikwa LG back to their ancestral home .
The Deputy Governor while making remarks on behalf of the Governor said ” today mark historic moment in the lives of the Gajibo Community and the people of Dikwa local Government area. The Commissioning of these 300 housing units and the resettlement of the Gajibo Community is not just a fulfilment of our promises but a significant step toward rebuilding lives and restoring hope to a community that has endured immense hardship”.
Dr kadafur further added today marks a new beginning.for many years, the Gajibo Community, along with other parts of Dikwa faced severe challenges, including displacement, insecurity, and the destruction of homes and livehoods. The people of Gajibo have shown great resilience in the face shown great resilience in the face of adversity, and this resettlement is a symbol of our collective determination to rebuild and transform our community into thriving, peaceful and sustainable environments.

The Deputy Governor while commissioning the 300 houses , handed over allocation letters, Cash of 50,000 each to 396 head of households, 25,000 each to 473 housewives, 25 kg of rice, 25 kg of Maize, Mattresses, leather mats, Mosquito nets, water container, Wrappers and Male clothing.
……. In 24 Task Force Brigade
HE Dr Usman Umar Kadafur while at the 24 Task Force Brigade, was received by Brigadier General Ezekiel Bawa Barkins then was given a guard of honour by men of the 24 Task Force Brigade of the Nigeria Army Dikwa.
The Deputy Governor thank the Nigeria Army for supporting the administration of Governor Babagana Umar Zulum resettlement process and ensuring dignify resettlement and sustainable livelihoods for the returnees back to their ancestorial homes. He added that as first liners to ensure peace and security in the state, you need to also educate the communities in areas of Agriculture as it’s the primary livelihoods of the returnees as part of their outreach to communities especially on the ongoing agricultural transformation of Governor Zulum and to be vigilant in developing feedback mechanisms and monitoring the activities of the returnees.
The Deputy Governor presents five operational vehicles to the Brig Commander as three will be for the Army and two to the youths volunteers (CJTF) and also fiftheen motorcycle to strategise it’s operation , Kadafur thank the military and the CJTF for their sacrifices.
……At the Shehu of Dikwa Palace
The Deputy Governor was received by the Shehu of Dikwa HRH Shehu Ibrahim Ibn Umar Ibrahim Al-Amin El-kanemi at his palace, where the Deputy express government appreciation to the royal father for supporting government policy and programmes especially the resettlement process. Lauding that the Royal father has always been in Dikwa town with his people and has always been praying for peace and prosperity of the state.
The Honourable Commissioner Ministry of reconstruction rehabilitation and resettlement (MRRR) Arch Isa Haladu said the ministry with support from the Government of Prof Babagana Umara zulum has built three hundred houses to resettle this community, the house were built in line with the durable solutions strategy and with the philosophy of building back better in order to build the resilience of our people, also the ministry has renovated about one hundred private houses here in Gajibo for the owners to occupy.
In a vote of thanks, by the Member representing Dikwa in the State House of Assembly Hon zakariya Dikwa urged the people of Dikwa to redouble their efforts in irrigation farming and business. While thanking the state Governor and his Deputy for their unflinching support to the area.
In attendance were the Secretary to the state Government Hon Bukar Tijjani Royal Highness, Shehu Ibrahim ibn Umar Ibrahim El-Kanemi, CFR the Shehu of Dikwa, House of Assembly Dikwa and Biu, Commissioners for Local Government and Emirates Affairs and that of MRRR, Executive Secretary Security Trust Fund, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and top government officials.
