In a decisive move, the Hisbah board in Kano has announced a ban on male DJs performing at events predominantly attended by females.
This directive was shared by the Commander General of the board, Aminu Daurawa, during a meeting with representatives of the state’s DJs.
“As an Islamic state, it is unacceptable for us to allow the indiscriminate mixing of males and females at the same event. This is because this act can promote and spread immorality,” Daurawa stated.
The Hisbah board, known for enforcing Islamic moral standards in Kano, has taken this step to maintain the cultural and religious values of the state.
The directive aims to curb what the board perceives as potential moral laxity resulting from mixed-gender gatherings with male DJs.
This new regulation is expected to reshape the entertainment landscape in Kano, emphasizing the separation of genders in public events.
