Governor Radda’s Call: Super Eagles, Let’s Focus on World Cup 2026

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria over their brilliant performance at the just-concluded African Cup of Nations, AFCON.

The Eagles lost the final game 2-1 yesterday to the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire to emerge runner-up.

According to Radda, who was a member of the Presidential delegation to the Nations Cup finals, he said, “Nigerians are proud of their national team and players, despite not winning the coveted trophy for the fourth time”.

He said: “On behalf of the government and people of Katsina State, I extend our heartfelt congratulations on your valiant performance in the recent African Cup of Nations.

“Though victory in the final eluded you, your dedication, sportsmanship, and fighting spirit resonated throughout the tournament, making us all incredibly proud.

“While falling short of the ultimate prize is undoubtedly disappointing, remember that even the most formidable teams experience setbacks.

“Let this be a source of motivation and fuel your determination to conquer new challenges. Now, as your attention shifts to the World Cup qualifying series, I urge you to remain focused and committed.

“The world expects great things from you, and the people of Katsina stand fully behind you. Carry the lessons learned, channel your passion, and continue to play with the same unwavering spirit that captured our hearts.

“Remember, success is not defined solely by trophies. It’s also measured by the resilience, perseverance, and ability to rise above defeat. We are confident that you will learn from this experience, emerge stronger, and achieve even greater heights on the international stage.
