In a bold move to boost connectivity and drive digital transformation,
Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has initiated a strategic collaboration with the Nigerian Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd.

During a high-profile meeting with NIGCOMSAT’s Managing Director, Mrs. Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, at the Katsina Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, Governor Radda outlined ambitious plans to enhance internet access across key sectors in the state.

Governor Radda highlighted several critical projects that stand to benefit from this partnership:

Equipping model schools with 24/7 internet accessEnsuring reliable connectivity in seven major hospitalsEstablishing an ICT center for youth empowerment Setting up the Katsina Geographical Information Centre (KGIS)Implementing e-learning platforms statewideRadda underscored the transformative potential of these initiatives, linking improved connectivity to economic development and security.

“Enhanced internet access can empower our youth, providing them with opportunities for online entrepreneurship and economic growth,” he stated.

The governor also envisioned a digitized civil service, moving away from paper-based processes towards a more efficient, computer-based system.Mrs.

Egerton-Idehen expressed NIGCOMSAT’s enthusiasm for the collaboration, particularly in expanding rural internet connectivity and supporting agricultural advancements.

She commended Governor Radda for his forward-thinking approach and commitment to leveraging technology for the state’s development.
