Gov Bala Vows To Deal With Hospital Equipment Thieving Staff

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi has warned that his administration would not condone pilferage, theft, misdemeanor and truancy by medical staff at the State Specialist Hospital.

He said, “This hospital has suffered so much, pilferage and theft, so many misdemeanor, mismanagement, truancy by medical officers and abuse of authority, so we have to arrest all these”.

Senator Bala Mohammed    who was speaking Tuesday while commissioning some dialysis and diagnostic equipment at the Bauchi Specialist Hospital, described the occasion as one of the happiest in his life.

“Today’s programme to commission some dialysis and diagnostic equipment procures by our administration for Bauchi State Specialist Hospital runs in my view among the best achievement of our administration”.

Governor Bala observed that to some people provision of hospital equipment should be considered one of the elementary duties of a responsible and responsive government, however said that some people forget that not always are governments responsible.

He explained that the quality of diagnosis is what provides and save lives and that is why he said the government is working very hard to make sure it provide these equipment, in addition to the provision of best medical professional as chief medical director of the specialist hospital.

He however frowned, “Sometimes the hospital equipment are taken away, and we have to go after them to their arrest.

Also speaking, the State commissioner of health, Dr. Adamu Sambo Umar said that the hospital which has 500 consumables and sessions of which 200 would offer free services to the public
