In a bold move to tackle Nigeria’s housing deficit, the Federal Government has unveiled plans to construct 100 housing units in each of the country’s 774 local government areas under the Renewed Hope Social Housing Programme.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, announced the initiative during a meeting with Creative Sphere Limited at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.
According to him, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will soon launch the ambitious housing scheme designed to make homeownership accessible to Nigerians across all income levels.
“This visionary programme reflects President Tinubu’s deep commitment to improving the lives of everyday Nigerians,” Dangiwa said. “No citizen should be left behind in the dream of owning a decent home.”
Funded by the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund (RHIDF), the project is tailored to serve the most vulnerable citizens, with 80% of the homes reserved for local residents earning modest incomes. Buyers will pay only one-third of their monthly earnings, making a home affordable even for those earning as low as N30,000 per month.
Beyond shelter, each housing estate will feature a primary school, police outpost, clinic, shopping mall, and recreational areas—designed to create vibrant, self-sustaining communities.
The Renewed Hope Social Housing Programme is not just building homes—it’s building dignity, security, and opportunity for millions of Nigerians.
